Week 26 - Musical Furniture

Your baby's the size of a head of lettuce!

She's still growing in the 13.6- to 14.8-inch and 1.5- to 2.5-pound range, and developing her senses, features and talents!

your baby at 26 weeks
  • Her eyes are forming, and her eyes will soon start to open.
  • And her eyelashes are now grown, too.
  • She's getting her immune system ready for life on the outside by soaking up your antibodies.
  • She's taking breaths, too. They're of amniotic fluid, not air, but it's still good practice.

Week 26:

I'm so far behind it's hard to remember the details, but I know I took a lot of Tylenol this week!  The highlight of this week is that we took all of the "extra" furniture we needed to get out of the house...out! We ended up renting a U-haul to get it distributed in the B/CS area and came home full of determination to finish the necessary game of Musical Furniture in our house. (There really was music blaring in our house, too!) Against my better judgement, I helped in the furniture moving process, and I felt it for the rest of the week! I am SO out of shape.
And before anyone {else} scolds me for helping move furniture, Blair's fine, I'm a grown up, and DB was there making sure I'm safe. K, thanks!

Dining room table moved to the eat-in area of the kitchen. DB is a trooper, he hated giving up that formal dining room, but we both know it's the most practical thing right now.
Office/Sewing Room turned Blair's Nursery - almost empty and ready to be painted! Excuse the gross yellow lighting, I don't pretend I know how to take proper pictures. haha
Our Dining Room turned Office/Sewing Room. Rest assured, this is not done, but it's not priority over the Nursery. Expect to see some of this furniture change as well soon. :)
26 weeks - Taken just hours before DOMS set in. Then I just looked like I was high on Tylenol and I think I started waddling, ha!

Week 25 - Making room for baby

Yes, I'm a few weeks behind! Expect to see more posts this week to catch up. :)

Your baby's the size of a cauliflower!
During month six, the average fetus measures about 13.6 inches to 14.8 inches and weighs about 1.5 to 2.5 pounds.

your baby at 25 weeks
  • She's enjoying her new sense of equilibrium -- she now knows which way is up and which is down.
  • She's growing more fat and more hair too!

Things I don't want to forget from Week 25:
  • Nursery and Guest room closet consolidation are well under way, including a major Goodwill purge trip! We're going to need room for this tiny little baby and all of her tiny things.
  • Weight gain now at +13.5 lbs
  • Noticing my stomach beginning to "get in the way" of things. For example, I actually had to wiggle it out of the way in Body Flow this week!
  • IBS symptoms are getting stronger and more frequent. I'm so not a fan of this.
  • I'm feeling extremely tired..again! I thought you were supposed to get a break until 3rd trimester??

24 Weeks - Congrats Uncle Brandon!!

your baby's the size of a cantaloupe!
Your 10.5-to-11.8-inch fetus weighs about 12.7 to 20.8 ounces and every week she gets closer and closer to being ready to survive (and thrive!) in the outside world.

your baby at 24 weeks
  • Her see-through skin is gradually becoming more opaque.
  • And it's got a new pink glow, thanks to the small capillaries that have recently formed.
Week 24: Jan 23-29
This weekend we went to Dallas to celebrate Uncle Brandon's graduation from Liberty University! Little Miss Blair's anticipated arrival date is May 15 and Uncle B's graduation ceremony in Virginia is May 10...needless to say, we will not be flying up there. Instead, we managed to pull off a big surprise party for him at his church with several friends, family, & church members. I think it was a success! :) We had so much fun playing with the sweetest little nieces, and Darrin got to play with Brandon & Allison's newest family member, Maximus (he's 4-legged). :)

Brandon & Allison at B's Graduation Party - she hid his diploma to surprise him!!

A rare moment that I got these two to sit still for a picture, ha!
My Love <3 td="">

On Monday we went back to the doctor for our 24 wk appointment. This is the first appointment where they measured my belly - she actually took a measuring tape across it top to bottom and side to side. I was not told the measurements, but I was told that everything seemed "perfectly normal." :) Throughout the entire pregnancy, I've had this strong feeling that I need to be prepared for an early arrival. I have no idea what that means, but I opened one of my baby apps this week and read "If your baby were born today, it would be able to survive!" What an amazing thing to know that our little girl is formed to the point that she could make it outside the womb (and a relief)! Now I sure hope she doesn't show up QUITE this early, but that is certainly comforting to read!

Week 24 Stats:
Blair's Heartbeat: 147 BPM (LOVE to hear that sound!!)
My Weight: +12.5 total pounds
Symptoms: IBS-like stomach issues (absolutely awful!), occasional leg cramps, and lots of kicks/movements (I love LOVE these!!)
Other: This week I have become very aware of her little movements & I can't get enough! I'm starting to feel stiff and "out of shape" - gotta get back to my Body Flow classes! Also, I finally downloaded What to Expect When You're Expecting. Nothing like starting to read it over halfway through! :)
